Clayton County Register, 10 March 1937.

St. Olaf: Ole Wold, lifelong resident of Clayton county, passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, at 1:30 o'clock a.m., after a short illness of one week.

Mr. Wold was born in Ness Hollingdol, Norway, March 12, 1846, the son of Andre and Brynild Wold. He was baptized in Norway and was instructed and confirmed here. He came to this country with his parents when seven years old.

He was united in marriage to Karie Johnson Rodegarde Jan. 01, 1865, who preceded him in death. To this union 13 children were born; one son, Olavus, passed away at the age of 39. Five died in infancy. Andrew, Ruth (Mrs. Adolph Olson), Elvina (Mrs. Louie Rierson), Mary (Mrs. Louie Embretson), Johnnie and Bennie, all of this community, and Theodore, who resides at the old home place. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Wold enjoyed good health until a few weeks ago.

A patient sufferer in his last illness, which lasted only one week, he was very thoughtful and appreciative of what was done for him. A kind father, the welfare of his family always came first. He was always ready to give a helping hand to the needy. His cordial hospitality and kind deeds will be missed by all.

He found much comfort and joy in the hymns of praise, and loved his home and his church. During his last illness he was tenderly cared for by his children, who did everything possible to comfort him.

His loved ones were at his bedside when he died. He will be sadly missed by his children, neighbors and friends.

He leaves to mourn, his children, 15 grandchildren besides a host of relatives and friends who will mourn his death.
