MCGREGOR: Funeral services for Willam S. Stone, 74, who died at the University hospital at Iowa City Monday, were held at the home Thursday afternoon, Rev. J. F. Parsons officiating.

William S. Stone was born in Rutland, Mass., October 07, 1862, and came to Illinois with his parents when he was a small child. When he was 23 he came to Iowa and made his home with an uncle in Ionia, Iowa. He worked as a baggageman on the I. and D. division of the C. M. & St. P. railroad, beginning in 1884 and continuing for nearly 40 years. In 1891 he was married to Anna Robinson at McGregor. Two children were born to them, the daughter, Mrs. Bessie Burns, dying two years ago. He is survived by his widow and only son, William R. Stone, of McGregor. Six grandchildren also survive him. Burial was made in Pleasant Grove cemetery.
