Matilda, daughter of John and Amelia Schneider, was born in Guttenberg, Iowa, November 29, 1863, and died at her home in McGregor, September 11, 1925.

November 27, 1888, her marriage to Mr. Anton Snyder was solemnized, and they have been residents of McGregor since that time. Four children blessed this union, all of them, with their father, surviving, and mourn the loss of a faithful, loving wife and fond and self-sacrificing mother.

The children are George, of Philadelphia, Pa.; Anton, Jr., and Olive, both at home, and Alfred, of Dennison, Iowa.

For some time, Mrs. Snyder has been in poor health. All that medical and surgical skill could do was done, together with loving and tender care and nursing at home, but to no avail. Her sufferings ceased at seven o'clock Friday evening, surrounded by all her family.

The funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church, attended by scores of her friends and neighbors.

George Snyder, of Philadelphia, and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Snyder and son Billie George, of Dennison were present at the funeral.

The sympathy of the community is extended to these mourners.

Besides the children, the following relatives and friends from abroad were in attendance at the funeral of Mrs. Snyder: Mr. and Mrs. T. O'Rourke, Mrs. John Tully, Mrs. Gregg O'Rourke, all of Dubuque; Mr. Wm. Siebertz, Mrs. Kister, Mrs. Torwald, Mr. and Mrs. Berns, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Connell, all of Garnavillo; George Rellihan, Chicago; Mrs. C.M. Burr, Mrs. E.E. Eilers, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbertz, Mr. Morehouser and Olive Morehouser, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schieder, all of Guttenberg; C.H. Speck and wife, and Mr. and Mrs. La Pointe, of Prairie du Chien; Mr. and Mrs. Mark Rolfes of Waterloo, and Mr. and Mrs. Snyder of Milwaukee.
