Same paper & date, also pg 1:
The snowstorm and drifts of last weekend stalled the funeral cortege of Anton Snyder last Friday morning and it was necessary for the pall-bearers to carry the coffin from the Chapin home to the Catholic cemetery, through the deep snow, a distance of almost half a mile up hill.
________

Reminiscent of experiences with deep snows in early days was the funeral of Anton Snyder here Friday, says the McGregor Times. The motor hearse became stalled in drifts on Cemetery hill. The casket had to be removed and nine men carried it a half-mile up the hill through deep snow. ~Postville Herald, December 13, 1934
