VOLGA: The death of Timothy Cox, pioneer resident, occurred Tuesday evening at 6:30 o'clock at the home of his son Frank. Although his heath of late had been poor, his death was sudden and came following an illness of only three days.

He was born in County Kerry, Ireland, in September, 1852. At the age of 12 years he came to America with his parents and after a few years spent in New York City he settled in Highland township.

On December 25, 1888, he was married to Miss Katherine Cassidy of Wadena. Later they moved to a farm near Volga where the remaining years were passed except the last two which he spent in town.

His wife preceded him in death July 26, 1912.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ernst of Sparta, Wis., and Mrs. Joe Manley of Mason City; four sons, Thomas of Yankton, S.D., Joseph of Elkader, Andrew and Frank both of Volga, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday morning at Sacred Heart church. The pastor, Rev. D. P. Cregan read a mass of requiem and read the prayers at Sacred Heart cemetery where interment was made.

The casket was borne by James Little, James Bergan, P. A. Wolf, John Conboy, Joe Little and John Shea.

The relatives from away were his daughters, Mrs. Mary Ernst and daughter Cecilia, Mrs. Joe Manley, and his son Thomas.

Mr. and Mrs. John Feeney and twin daughters of Seneca, Wis., attended the funeral services.
