Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Edward Ferris, 78, of Marquette, one of the towns oldest residents. The services were held at the home of Cloyd Ferris, his son, under the auspices of the Masonic lodge, Rev. S. F. Kenderdine, pastor of the Methodist church of Marquette, officiating. Burial took place in Pleasant Grove cemetery.
Mr. Ferris was born in New York Dec. 19, 1857. He came to Marquette as a young married man and lived here ever since. For many years he was in the restaurant business with his son, Cloyd. His wife died about three years ago. He is survived by three sons, Cloyd and Ray, of Marquette, and Merle of Caledonia, Minn. There are nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
