Clayton County Register, 28 Oct. 1936.
MONONA: Funeral services ffor Henry C. Honn, who died early Saturday morning were held from the home at two o'clock Monday afternoon, and at 2:15 from the Evangelical Lutheran church, the Rev. H. W. Siefkes officiating. Burial was made in the City cemetery beside Mrs. Honn.
In May, 1935, Mr. Honn suffered a stroke while mowing the lawn, and has been an invalid since. With all the good care given him by his children, his death came as a relief to him. He was a kind and loving father and an unusually good neighbor. He was always very happy when his children and grandchildren gathered at his home. Mrs. Honn died eight years ago, and since then his faithful daughters, Emma and Laura, were his companions. The weekly visits of his eldest son and wife Mr. Honn always looked for as he did the coming of his other sons and daughters. He was a faithful member of the local Lutheran church, and was always ready to help.
(At this point there was a list of approximately 100 persons who attended the funeral, not identified as relatives, and not transcribed here.)
Pallbearers were Joseph Keppler, Henry W. Drahn, Henry Aulerich, George J. Aulerich, Edward W. Allert, Ewald A. Sabbann, Chas. Johanningmeier, F. G. Drahn.
