Funeral services for E. W. Greenley of Oelwein, a former resident of Strawberry Point, were held on Wednesday afternoon at the Hintz funeral home in Oelwein and the local Methodist church, conducted by Dr. F. C. Witziman of Oelwein, assisted by the local pastor, Rev. James P. Gable. Burial was made in the Strawberry Point cemetery.
Mr. Greenley was born at Cottage Hill, Dubuque county, in 1866, and died at the Mercy hospital in Oelwein Monday, after a year's illness. On Jan. 12, 1892, he was united in marriage to Pricilla Jewell of Strawberry Point. The home was made on a farm in this vicinity for several years, after which they moved to Oelwein, which has since been their home. For twenty-five years he was employed by the Chicago Great Western railroad.
Surviving are the widow, three sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Grace Nolton of Sioux City, Mrs. Mae Potter of Oelwein, Mrs. Lorraine Schumway of Ocean Park, Wash., Roy Greenley of Waterloo, Frank Greenley of Elgin and Robert Greenley of Fargo, N.D.
