ST. OLAF: John F. Johnson was born Dec. 04, 1855, on the farm in Wagner township now occupied by Gunder Rugland. His parents were Fingar and Ingri Johnson. He was married to Tillie Glesne March 21, 1889.
He has made his home in Wagner township with the exception of about ten years while in Northfield, Minn. The last five years the family made their home in the town of St. Olaf where he passed away at 8:25 p.m. Aug. 20, at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 16 days.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Norway church with the Rev. Strandjord officiating. Interment was in Norway cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, seven children, one grandchild and one sister.
