Clayton County Register, 19 Aug. 1936.

Funeral services for C. C. Pust, who died at his home in Littleport last Friday evening at 9:50, were held there Monday afternoon.

Christian C. Pust, prominent in Littleport business circles for many years, was born in Littleport on Nov. 22, 1872, the son of Henry and Sophia Pust. On June 10th, 1896, he was united in marriage with Caroline Armbruster at Littleport.

Littleport has been the home of the deceased for 48 years, the last 18 years of which he has served this community as its banker. He was cashier of the Littleport Savings bank until that institution was merged with the Community Savings bank of Edgewood and then continued as its cashier.

Practically every function of the town felt his influence in some capacity or another. He was treasurer of the school district, treasurer of the town, town assessor and clerk of the local camp of the Modern Woodmen. He was actively affiliated with the Masonic lodge and also the Modern Woodmen of America.

For some time Mr. Pust had been in ill health but he continued his duties in the bank until June 20th, this year, when his health became so that he was forced to retire.

A man who has been as active in a community as Mr. Pust was, is certain to be missed for a long time and his family and friends have the sincere sympathy in their bereavement.

He is survived by is wife, Mrs. Caroline Pust, one son, E. C. Pust, and one daughter, Mrs. H. E. Gro_her, both of Littleport; a sister, Mrs. Louise Liddy of Dubuque and one granddaughter, Betty Lou, of Littleport.
