Clayton County Register, 15 July 1936.

MONONA: C. M. Mason died Wednesday morning at the Mason home here after an illness of several months duration. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at two-thirty from the Carl G. Shultz funeral home with burial in the city cemetery. Surviving him are one son H. Lee Mason of Auburn, Indiana, and three daughters, Misses Ella and Mildred Mason and Mrs. John Plummer, the latter of Galesburg, Illinois. One daughter Mable Cassie and one son Clyde preceded him in death. He has two grandchildren, Billy and Eileen Mason of Auburn, Indiana.

Mr. and Mrs. Mason several years ago were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary which was a very happy day for them. Mr. Mason was a good neighbor always happy to do anyone a favor and was of a jolly disposition ready to enjoy a joke on himself as well as on his neighbor. His wife and life companion will miss him as will the children on their vacation visits home.
