Clayton County Register, 29 Apr. 1936.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the Union church for James H. G. Schofield, 64, farmer living west of Strawberry point, who died at People's hospital at Independence. Rev. Max O. Jahr, pastor of Emanuel's Lutheran church, conducted the services. Burial was in the Union cemetery. He was born in 1872 at Nottinghamshire, England. Besides his wife, who was formerly Emma Andermann, he is survived by three sons, Gilbert Schofield, Howard Schofield and Thomas Schofield, besides other relatives.
