GUTTENBERG: Mrs. Ernst Wolter (nee Elizabeth Zopes), long-time resident of Guttenberg, died at her home in the August Rodenberg apartments here on Saturday morning, at the age of 78 years, four months and 15 days. She had been in failing health for several years previous to her death. Mrs. Wolter was born at Bonn, Germany, on December 10, 1857. Here she received her education and grew to womanhood. On January 07, 1875, she was married to Ernst Wolter, who preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1933. The year of their marriage the couple came to America, settling at Kansas City, Mo., for a time, then coming to Guttenberg to make their home. After residing in Guttenberg for a time, the family went to Chicago, but later Mr. and Mrs. Wolter returned to Guttenberg to spend the remainder of their lives.

Her death is deeply mourned by eight children, namely: Elizabeth Wolter of Guttenberg; Anton, Joseph, Lorenz and Charles Wolter, and Mrs. Christine Bockleman, all of Chicago, Robert Wolter of Kirkland, Ill., and Mrs. Betty Moser of Osterdock; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; One brother, Joseph Zopes, of Bonn, Germany; one sister, Miss Josephine Zopes, of Bonn, Germany, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. C. A. Jacobi, pastor of St. Paul's United Lutheran church, at the August Rodenburg apartments Monday afternoon, with burial in the City cemetery. The funeral was largely attended.
