Mrs. Mary Klinkenberg was born Oct. 07, 187_, in Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krogman. She died at her home near St. Olaf of heart failure at the age of 62 years, five months and 1_ days.

Mrs. Klinkenberg came to America when she was eight years old. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Postville. She later became a member of St. John's Lutheran church Farmersburg, and also a member of the Frauen Verein, an organization of that church.

She was married to Charles Ohloff of Postville, Iowa. To this union seven children were born, one dying in infancy. The living children are: ______ Meyer of Clermont; Charles Ohloff of Postville; Clara _________ of Clear Lake; D____y Ohloff of Milwaukee, Wis.; ______ Klinkenberg of St. Olaf, and _______ Nichols of Waterloo.

Mr. Ohloff died in ____. On Sept. 1_, 1920, she was married to Wm. Klinkenberg of near St. Olaf. He died Feb. __, ____.

Mrs. Klinkenberg died very suddenly, having gone to bed seeming to feel as good as usual. Death came to her as she slept.

The deceased is mourned by the six above named children; one brother, Charles Krogman of Postville; two sisters, Minnie ______ of Postville, and ______ _____ of New ______, Minn.; __ grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the St. John's Lutheran church at Farmersburg Thursday afternoon, April __, the Rev. _. _. Adix officiating. Burial was in Farmersburg cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Klinkenberg was born Oct. 07, 1873, in Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krogman, and passed at her home near St. Olaf, Iowa, on Tuesday morning, April 21, 1936, aged 62 years, five months and 14 days.

As a child of eight years she came to America with her parents, to live at Postville. When she was but twelve years old her mother was taken by death, leaving her as the eldest to take care of five younger sisters and brothers.

In 1892 she was united in marriage with Charles Ohloff of Postville. This union was blessed with seven children: Mrs. Louisa Meyer, Charles Ohloff, Mrs. Clara Oeltjenbruns, Dewey Ohloff, Mrs. Radena Klinkenberg, Mrs. Geneva Nichols, and one son who died in infancy. Amid sorrow on August 14, 1914, her husband died, leaving her with the responsibility of her family.

On September 13, 1920, she was united in marriage to Wm. Klinkenberg of near St. Olaf. This continued to be her home until the time of her death. With untiring effort and care she served her husband during his declining years and until his demise on February 18, 1934.

Her home continued to be here with her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Klinkenberg, where she worked in the interest of her children. Last Monday evening she retired seemingly feeling as well as usual, and still making plans for the summer's work. On Tuesday morning she did not arise at her usual time, and some time later she was found dead in bed, heart failure being the cause of her demise.

She leaves to mourn, her children: Mrs. Louisa Meyer of Clermont; Charles Ohloff of Postville; Mrs. Clara Oeltjenbruns of Clear Lake; Dewey Ohloff of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Mrs. Redena Klinkenberg of St. Olaf; Mrs. Geneva Nichols of Waterloo; a brother, Carl Krogman, and a sister, Minnie Powell, both of Postville; one sister, Mrs. Fredia Foels of New Richland, Minnesota; 18 grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Lutheran church in Farmersburg, Rev. Adix officiating, following which the remains were conveyed to Postville for interment in the local cemetery.

Note: She is not buried in the Farmersburg cemetery, rather she's buried with her first husband in the Postville cemetery where her gravestone is inscribed Mary Ohloff 1873-1936. William Klinkenberg is buried in the Zion Lutheran cemetery, Clayton Center with his 1st wife.
