Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic church Tuesday morning, for Michael Growney, 80, who died Sunday, March 08, 1936. Rev. J. J. Horsfeld officiated at the service. Burial was in the local Catholic cemetery. Mr. Growney was born Jan. 19, 1856, in Easton, Pa., coming to Iowa when he was about five years old. With the exception of 11 years, when he worked at Wausau, Wis., he lived on a farm near Clayton, then in 1920 the farm was sold and he moved with his two brothers and two sisters to McGregor. He was never married. He is survived by his sister Margaret and is brother Owen. The other brother and sister having died in the past three years.
