Funeral services will be held in Clayton Center Friday afternoon at two o'clock for Mrs. Fred Wilke, who died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, in the Lenth hospital here. Burial will be made in the Clayton Center cemetery, with the Rev. O. Melchert officiating.

Mrs. Fred Wilke of Read township died at the Lenth hospital here at 1:30 a.m., February 25th, following an illness of several months. She was buried last Friday in the Clayton Center cemetery following services in Zion's Luth. church of Clayton Center, the Rev. O. F. Melchert officiating.
The deceased, whose maiden name was Emilie Engelhardt, was born July 21, 1881, in Wagner township, the daughter of Rudolph and Mary Engelhardt. November of the same year she was baptized and then, at the age of 15 years, she was confirmed.
October 17, 1900, she was united in marriage, in Farmersburg, with Fred Wilke. In 1904 the family moved to the farm which has since been their home. This union was blessed with five children, who together with the husband survive. They are: Mrs. Geo. Harnack, Luana; Mrs. Fred Wilker, Farmersburg; Lorenz Wilke, Elkader; Mrs. Clarence Engelhardt, Farmersburg; and Erwin, at home. Besides these she is survived by four grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Geo. Engelhardt, Luana; Louis Engelhardt, Luana; John Engelhardt, Monona; Arthur Engelhardt, Lime Springs; Robert Engelhardt, St. Olaf; Mrs. Augusta Jones, Cresco; Mrs. Martha Boller, Cresco; Mrs. Emma Jones, Monona; and Mrs. Alma Oelke, Mitchell, S. Dak.
The deceased was a faithful member of the Zion's Luth. Church in Clayton Center and at one time served the ladies aid of that church as its secretary. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, a true friend and neighbor, who will be missed by all who knew her.
