Robert Scott, son of Jane and James Scott, was born April 21, 1894, near Carluke, Lanarkshire, Scotland, and departed this life February 11, 1936, at the age of 41 years, nine months and 20 days.

He is survived by his wife, two children, five sisters and four brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.

His early life was spent at Carluke until 1914, when he enlisted in the British army at the beginning of the World War and served the duration of the war.

He came to America in December, 1919, and on March 15, 1922, was united in marriage to Ruth Duff of Volga, Iowa. To this union was born one daughter, Jane Ann, and one son, Kenneth James.

While in Scotland he attended the United Free church at Carluke, and in 1929 joined the Presbyterian church of Volga.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the home in Highland township, to the Presbyterian church. Rev. James Wray, pastor, officiated at the services. Interment was made in Hill Crest cemetery.

The casket was borne by Elmer Dennler, Ray Miller, Will Smith, Allen Longmeier, John and James Muncie.
