Clayton County Register, 15 Jan. 1936.

Monona: Mrs. Herman Appel, nee Lottie Sass, aged 29, died suddenly of heart trouble before noon Wednesday. She is survived by the widower, Herman Appel, and three sons, Richard, Roger and Frederick. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sass, of McGregor; one brother, Harvey Sass; and three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Stuber and Mrs. Eldo Sass, both of Monona, and Viola, now living in Oregon, also survive.
