STRAWBERRY POINT: Mrs. Burrack, nee Alke Katherine Rippen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Rippen, was born at Freideberg, Germany, on Aug. 12, 1855. She was united in marriage to Enno Burrack on Nov. 25, 1880. Two years later they came to the United States and settled near Monticello, Iowa, where they resided until 1895, when they purchased a farm five miles west of Strawberry Point. Eight years ago they moved to town. In 1930, surrounded by relatives and friends, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Nine children were born to this union, three having preceded their mother in death. Surviving are the aged husband and six children: Mrs. William Rieniets, John Burrack, Will Burrack, George Burrack and Ernest Burrack, all of Strawberry Point, and Mrs. Wilbur Lickiss of Arlington; 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
