Rosetta Amelia Staring was born in Lodi, Wis., July 27th, 1860, and died at Volga, Iowa, July 13th, 1912.
At the age of ten she removed with her parents to Jefferson, Green County, Iowa. When she was about fifteen years she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and united with the Presbyterian church, of which she has been a devoted member her life long. On Dec. 21st, 1876, she was united in Holy Matrimony to J. W. Hold and this union was blessed by the birth of five children, all of whom survive her: Georgie E., wife of Jas. Bardell Wescott; Elsie B., wife of Albert Fobes; Harry E., Hazel L., and Leslie D., all of Volga City.
Mr. and Mrs. Hold and family came to reside in Volga from Jefferson in the year 1900, where in the year 1909, April 21st, the faithful husband and loving father was called by death.
Besides the family already named Mrs. Hold leaves to mourn her loss a mother, one brother and two sisters: Mrs. Staring, Mrs. Fowler and Mrs. Davenport, of Jefferson, and Mr. Walter E. Staring, of Prussia, S.D.
Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Healy officiating.
