Elkader Register, Thur., 25 Apr. 1912. Monona column.
On the 15th of April, 1912, occurred the death of Ben Henry Waalk, little son of Henry and Gertie Waalk. He was born at Luana, Iowa, April 16th, 1909. As he came to gladden the home on the 15th of April, so his little body being carried away on the third anniversary of this date left the home in deepest sorrow. Short funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wappler on the lawn near the home, and, accompanied by many relatives, neighbors and by special delegations from the Womens Relief Corps and the Modern Woodmen. The little body was borne to the place of interment in the East Cemetery*.
