Elkader Register, Thur., 18 Apr. 1912.

Adaline Lyming, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Lyming, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on July 14th, 1857, and died on April 12th, 1912, at Geddes, S.D., aged 54 years 8 months and 28 days, of cancer. She was united in marriage with Robert B. Nichols on December 4th, 1874 in Wagner township, and to them were born one daughter, Miss Florence Nichols, of Geddes, S.D., and three sons, Charles G., of Elkader; Jesse B., of Oakland, Cal., and Alvah J., of Duluth, Minn., all of whom with her companion are living. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Luvena Shuck, of Geddes, S.D.; a brother, John Lyming, of Primghar, Iowa; a step-sister, Mrs. Dr. H. S. Patterson, of Elkader, and two little grandchildren, the little son and daughter of Mr. Chas. G. Nichols, and other relatives and friends who mourn the departure of a faithful wife, a loving mother and sister and true friend and neighbor, who labored for her loved ones.

She had been afflicted for years with that fatal disease, but had received the most patient, loving care from her husband and children. They had been residents of this city until about a year ago when they moved to Nora Springs, Iowa, and later to Geddes, S.D. A few days before her death she sent for all her children who responded to mother's last request, and were all present at the funeral.

The remains, accompanied by the husband, daughter Florence and son Jesse, arrived here Monday noon and were taken to the home of her son Charles, the funeral services being held in the Congregational church at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. R. G. Heddon. Interment in the East Side cemetery.

At rest is the devout wish of all.
