On March 03, 1912, at his home in Jefferson township, occurred the death of Friederich William Aulwes, a long time resident of this vicinity, after a several weeks' illness. Deceased was born in Jefferson on the old home farm on April 21, 1850, where he lived and engaged in farming until his death. He was 61 years, 10 months and 11 days of age at the time of his death. On March 14, 1872, he was united in marriage to Miss Katherine Tuecke, to which union were born two sons and three daughters, namely: Ben Aulwes and Wm. Aulwes, of Jefferson township; Mrs. Ed. P. Eberhardt and Mrs. John Kluth, of Guttenberg, and Mrs. John Duwe, of Jefferson township. His untimely death is deeply mourned by his widow, five children, twelve grandchildren, one brother (Henry Aulwes, of Jefferson township), two sisters (Mrs. Martin Dittmer, Sr., of Guttenberg, and Mrs. Charlotte Menges, of Arlington), and a large circle of relatives and friends, by whom he will be sadly missed. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from his late residence, and the remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery. The funeral was largely attended. County Attorney Chas. E. Scholz officiated.
