Mrs. Joseph Matt, whose death we recorded in our last letter, was a daughter of Mrs. Theodore Bearns, of this place. She was born in Jefferson township, Nov. 23, 1859. She was married in November, 1876. She was the mother of eight children, the eldest, Anna, being fourteen years, and the youngest, an infant of four weeks. She was a lady of remarkable health and vigor, having never, since her marriage, required a physician.
