Elkader Register, Thur., 02 May 1889.

At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. George Stich, Elkader, on Friday, April 26th, 1889, Jessie, only daughter of Xavier Lamm, of this place, aged nearly fifteen years. Deceased was born at Elkader, but for several years lived at Harlan, Iowa, and Watertown, Dakota. Her mother died here some three years ago of the same disease - consumption. She leaves a heartbroken father, a little brother and numerous relatives to mourn her death. The funeral took place from the Catholic church on Sunday, Rev. Father Reilly officiating and was one of the largest that has been held in Elkader for some time, showing the universal esteem in which she was held. The mourning relatives have the sympathy of all in their sad affliction.
