Elkader Register, Thur., 31 Jan. 1889.

Another of X. Shaeffer's family has fallen victim to diphtheria. This time it is the youngest, a child of (looks like 16 or 18) months. The little sufferer had entirely recovered from the disease, and was apparently as well as usual, but on Sunday morning paralysis of the throat set in and in a few hours ended his sufferings. Our sympathies are with the afflicted parents.
