Elkader Register, Thur., 28 Jun. 1888.

DIED - At the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Russell, on Wednesday morning, occurred the death of Mrs. Kate Baker, aged 80 years, 1 month and 19 days. She had been ailing for some time from the effects of old age, and her death was not unexpected. She was a native of Germany but had resided in the United States for the greater portion of her life. She leaves two children, Mrs. Geo. Russell of this place and George Baker of Earling, Iowa, besides numerous friends to mourn her death. The funeral will probably take place this afternoon at two o'clock.
