Stranahan, Otto died 1888

Elkader Register, Thur., 12 July 1888.

On the 06th, a little boy named Otto Stranahan, was drowned in the Mississippi river at Guttenberg. He was playing on a raft of logs and falling into the water was drowned before aid could reach him.

Note:
The 1880 census enumerates Otto Stranahan, s/o P.S. Stranahan, aged 2 months; living in Jefferson twp. Clayton co. IA. The 1885 IA State census, Guttenberg, shows him in the same family aged 6 years.
