John Hammond died very suddenly at his home in Mallory township, Clayton County, on the 23d inst., of bilious colic, aged 73 years. The death of Uncle John, as he was familiarly called, will be learned with regret by a large circle of friends throughout Delaware and Clayton counties. The funeral services were conducted by the United Brethren minister on friday, the 25th inst., at his residence, there being a large number of sympathizing friends and relatives.
