Elkader Register, Thur., 12 Apr. 1888.

Thomas Arnold, one of the old settlers and prominent citizens of McGregor, died at his home in that city last week. By his will he leaves the Atheneaum block to the city of McGregor the profits arising from it to be applied to building up their fire department.

Also on that page is information about his will leaving the property to the city of McGregor. Briefly, in the long obit:
born = 1815, Coventry, Kent co., RI
wife = Ann Thurber, of Providence, RI
children = Dexter T., buried Providence, RI and Abbie, who survives the father
burial = body taken by U.S. Express for burial in Providence, R.I.
