Elkader Register, Thur., 05 Apr. 1888. Littleport column.

DIED- On March 29th, 1888, at the residence of F. Peick, Mrs. Samp, mother of the late Mrs. F. Peick, aged seventy-three years. She has been gradually sinking for some time past and her death was not unexpected. The funeral took place on Saturday last, and was largely attended by mourning friends and relatives.

Note: The obit of Minnie (Samp) Peick (1858-1942), w/o Fred Peick Sr. gives her parents as Daniel Samp & Libbie Adam Samp. Daniel & Gottliebe Samp have a large gravestone in Union cemetery.
