Elkader Register, Thur., 15 Mar. 1888.

The Strawberry Point Press says: Mr. John Barr, living a few miles southeast of this place, died Sunday. The funeral was held yesterday. Mr. Barr was an old resident of this community coming from Ireland about 20 years ago, and settling down in our midst, by untiring industry amassed a comfortable competence. He leaves a wife and several children most of whom are married.
