Elkader Register, Thur., 23 February 1888.
Louise, daughter of Mrs. Rudolph Hassler, died at the residence of her parents in Elkader, on Sunday morning, February 19th, 1888, after a short illness with the measles.
Deceased was one of the brightest of Elkader's young ladies, and her sudden death, just as she was entering young womanhood, has cast a pall of sadness over the hearts of her associates. She was about 16 years of age, kind and loving to all, and will be greatly missed from her school and walks of life where none knew her but to love her.
The funeral took place Monday morning at the Catholic church, Rev. J. F. Reilly officiating, and was largely attended. Her remains were laid away to the long sleep in the Catholic cemetery.
