Hark, the angel's voice is calling
From our home our youngest one;
A little rose-bud just a blooming
Carried into Mary's arms.Little Lulu gone forever
From this toilsome world of pain,
Closed her eyes forever
Never to open wide again.Father, mother, all beloved,
Cease to weep for her no more,
Put in order all her playthings
As she did in days of yore.Never shall you hear her prattle,
Hear her footsteps any more,
See her large blue eyes laughing
Standing at the store door.Weep not, mother, keep up courage,
She has gone to her bright home,
Where she joined in angel's chorus
Never from that band will she roam.Little Lulu, bright and handsome,
As the star above the sky,
On which her lovely eyes she fixed,
For little Lulu only sleeps.
