Elkader Register, Thursday, 23 February 1888.

Mrs. Schwenke, of Clayton Center, mother of Henry Schwenke, died quite suddenly on Sunday last at the home of August Hamann, in Farmersburg township, where she had been visiting. Her remains were taken to her home in Clayton Center, and buried at that place on Tuesday. We are without further particulars in regard to her life or age.
