DEATH OF MRS. JOHN CARNEY.

This estimable lady died at the family residence near Volga City, on Sunday afternoon, after a very long and painful sickness. She has been an almost constant sufferer for the past twenty years, and for ten years has not been able to walk a step. She endured her sufferings with Christian forbearance, and died in the blessed hope of a bright hereafter where sorrow and pain are unknown. She was about 68 years of age and leaves an aged husband and three grown children to mourn for a loved companion and mother. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church, Elkader, Father Reilly officiating, after which her remains were buried in the Catholic cemetery at Garnavillo.
