Died, at her home in the south part of Sperry township, Mrs. Almina St. John, aged 68 years and 9 months, leaving a husband and a large number of relatives and friends to mourn. Mr. and Mrs. St. John moved from near Janesville, Wis., in the year 1852 with their young family to Sperry, Clayton County, Iowa. They were among the first settlers of Sperry. She died of lung trouble, having been afflicted for a number of years. She was a kind mother and good neighbor, and her death will be greatly mourned.

The obituary of her husband Nehemiah St. John names her as Almena Freeman. Burial is in Reed cemetery.
