Elkader Register, Thur., 22 Dec. 1887.

Mr. John Engler died at his home in Clayton township, on December 18th, at the advanced age of 62 years. The funeral services were held at Clayton Catholic church on Monday morning, Rev. Father Carroll, of McGregor, officiating. The remains were buried in the Catholic cemetery at Garnavillo.
