Elkader Register, Thur., 08 Dec. 1887. Elkport and Vicinity column.

C. H. Andresen died Tuesday morning after a lingering illness of cancer. Mr. Andersen has been a resident of this place for a number of years, and was considered as an honest and upright citizen. He was about fifty years of age. His funeral takes place Thursday.

(Note: Both spellings of the surname were used in the article. His gravestone in Immanuel Lutheran cemetery is engraved K.H. Andresen - likely this is Carl or Karl Andresen.)
