Elkader Register, Thur., 08 Dec. 1887. From the Pioneer Press, Brainerd, Minn., of 05th Dec. 1887.

A Pioneer Press special from Brainerd, Minn., of December 05th, says: "Some time last night, near Detroit Station, Daniel Daley*, a brakeman, slipped and fell from his caboose, and it passed over his body, cutting it nearly in twain. The mangled remains were brought to the sanitarium here, where the victim died to-day. He was a brother of Conductor Daley, and running the Ashland division." Deceased was a Clayton County boy, formerly residing in Farmersburg township, and his remains were brought to that place, Tuesday, for burial. His brother, John Daley, accompanied the remains.
