DIED- At her home in Garnavillo township on Sunday, Oct. 30, 1887, of consumption, Miss Margeret L. Fallon. The death of Maggie, as she was called by her numerous friends, had been expected for several weeks, as she has been gradually failing since her return from Dubuque, where she went in vain for relief. Her fellow teachers had hoped she might be spared to resume her labors in a profession in which she was singularly efficient and successful. Her family have, within the space of a few months been bereft of a fond and loving father, and a noble daughter and sister.

Margeret L. Fallon was born in Garnavillo, Clayton County, Iowa, on the 30th day of October, 1862. She received her education in the home schools, and at the graded school of Elkader. She entered upon her profession as teacher in 1882, and continued until emaciated by disease. Death relieved her from her suffering Sunday morning. Her remains were conveyed to the Catholic cemetery in Garnavillo on Tuesday, a large concourse of sorrowing friends following. Rev. Father Reilly of Elkader performed the last sad rites and all that was mortal of a once noble woman was hidden from view. Peace to her ashes.
