Elkader Register, Thur., 03 Nov. 1887.

DIED- On October 29th, 1887, Mary B., wife of E. W. Marble; aged 53 years, 5 months, and 20 days. Deceased was a native of New York state, but for the past eleven years has been a resident of Volga City. She leaves a husband, three sons and three daughters to mourn the loss of a fond wife and mother. Her daughters are Mrs. Alice Calkins, who resides in Michigan; Mrs. H. Keilholtz and Mrs. John Copeland, of Volga City. Mrs. Marble was a kind friend, good neighbor, was respected by all, and her death will be universally mourned. The funeral on Monday was largely attended, services being held by Revs. J. G. Whitford and H. N. Lawrence, after which she was laid away to her long rest in the Volga cemetery.
