Elkader Register, Thur., 29 Sept. 1887. Volga column.

Another old pioneer has gone to his long home. George Arnold died September 2_, 1887, of consumption; aged 62 years. He has been a resident of Volga City for thirty years or more. His wife died January 03rd, 1874, since which time he has been living alone. He leaves a son and daughter to mourn his loss. The funeral occurred on Wednesday of this week.
