An old lady named Mrs. Rogers died Friday last and was buried Saturday from the Catholic church.

At her late residence in Elkader, on Friday morning at 7:30 o'clock, of old age, occurred the death of Mrs. Ann Rogers.
Deceased was a native of county Cavin, Ireland, where she was born in 1811. Here she was reared to womanhood, and married to Patrick Rogers. In 1835 they came to the United States settling first at Baltimore, afterwards removing to Zanesville, Ohio. In 1845 they came to Clayton county. Here Mr. Rogers died in 1868, and was buried in the Catholic cemetery.
Since then she has resided in her home on Second street, where her death occurred. She leaves seven children: Edward, James and Eliza, of Elkader; Ann, who is in a convent at Dubuque; Frank, who is in Idaho, Michael in California, and Mrs. Mary Moran, of Maurice, Sioux county, Iowa.
The funeral took place from the Catholic church on Saturday morning last, her remains being laid beside those of her husband in the Catholic cemetery, there to sleep the long, last sleep, from which there is no mortal wakening.

Ann Rogers is buried in St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery, Elkader. She shares a gravestone with her husband Patrick.
