Clayton County Journal, 03 Aug. 1887.

Died - Mrs. James Brown, July 27th, 1887, at her home one mile north east of Colesburg, of dropsy after a long illness. Mrs. Brown departed this life leaving a husband and several children and many friends who deeply mourn her loss. She was buried in the Brown cemetery, July 28th, with a large concourse of friends and relatives in attendance.
