Elkader Register, Thur., 25 Aug. 1887.

At the family residence in Farmersburg township, at 10 a.m., on Monday August 22nd, 1887, occurred the death of Charles Alfred, son of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Corlett. Deceased was taken with inflammation of the bowels, and medical skill and loving care could not avail. He was nearly 17 years of age, and was beloved by all who knew him. The funeral took place yesterday. The afflicted family have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their great sorrow.
