Elkader Register, Thur., 04 Aug. 1887.

On Saturday morning last, at his residence just over the Fayette County line, occurred the death of Simon Roethisberger, from heart disease. At the time of his death deceased was a little over 75 years of age. He was a native of Switzerland, but came to Iowa in 1852. He leaves a wife, nine children, and numerous friends to mourn his loss. The funeral took place on Sunday last, his remains being laid away in the Highland cemetery.
