Elkader Register, Thur., 21 July 1887.

Peter Gerber, of Marion township, who died on the 5th, inst., was one of the very first settlers of that township, having located there with his parents since 1849. He was seventy-two years of age and leaves an aged widow and five children to mourn his death. Deceased was highly respected by all who knew him.
