Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Apr. 1887.

DIED- At the residence of his son in Cox Creek township, on Monday last, of old age, Mr. Byrnes, one of the oldest citizens of Cox Creek township. Mr. Byrnes was a native of County Monohan, Ireland, and came to this country a number of years ago. He was over 90 years of age. One son, James, is left to mourn his loss. The funeral occurred yesterday from the Catholic church in Cox Creek township, and was very largely attended.
