Elkader Register, Thur., 17 Feb. 1887.

We have just received the sad intelligence of the sudden death of Mrs. Auer, wife of Frank Auer, Jr., of this township. Mrs. Auer died very suddenly on Sunday evening, after an illness of two hours. She was apparently in health, but at noon she complained of a slight indisposition. Mr. Auer summoned a neighbor, but nothing serious was expected. Toward evening she grew worse and Dr. Duffin was summoned. When he arrived he found her dying. Mrs. Auer left a family of five little children, the youngest of which is 2 years old. We are without further particulars.
